Largest Online Poker Tournament World Record

Posted under online poker & online poker rooms & poker

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Full Tilt Poker unveils new “Durrrr Challenge” Info page

Posted under fulltilt poker & online poker & online poker rooms & poker & poker celebrities & poker room & poker rooms

Online poker site Full Tilt Poker has just unveiled an innovative informative section involving all the facts of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an amazing online heads up poker tournament presenting some of the most talented big money online players challenging the poker sensation Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The innovative new website offers online poker players and followers the opportunity to follow this amazing internet poker challenge and receive frequent statistical updates. With this new “durrrr Challenge” section poker players can view all the details and review each hand played during durrrr Challenge, and check out lots of statistics, including how many hands were played, session time, amount won, average won during each hand and lots more.

Close to six months ago, the 23 year old online poker professional dealt out a heads-up poker challenge open to any player with the cash, time and ability to accept it. Any player entering the Full Tilt durrrr challenge has to put up $500,000 against Tom’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge specifies that at least 50,000 poker hands need to be played at the same time at 4 or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the heads up challenge, the player who has more cash will win the pool. Essentially if you enter the durrrr challenge and win $1 after the 50,000 hands, then you will take home Tom’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by $1 then he will take your $500,000.

So far, a few poker players have consented to play the “durrrr challenge”, including WSOP Champ Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, yet, only Patrick Antonius has said yes to the durrrr challenge. At this point, both players have participated in a total of 20,647 poker hands out of 50,000, with durrrr up by $726,546 total.

Is Shooting your Mouth Off in Texas Hold’Em a Good Idea?

Posted under poker players & poker tables & professional poker

poker tips
Certainly the most loathed individuals at the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table the majority of times will constantly be the bragger. You know the person I’m speaking of. He’s the player that finds a seat at the poker table and makes clear you’re conscious that he desires all of your no-limit Texas Hold’em chips; parting the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table with the very same mind-set that he arrived with. Even if the guy gets killed, he has the idea that he is the best Texas Hold’em player in the world.

As the better part of Texas Hold’em players would preferably avoid opponents of this kind, there are other people who would argue that bragging may have its rewards. So, the big doubt is: Is there truly something like an accomplished poker attention-seeker or false Texas Hold’em bragger? Bragging about how skilled you are in no limit Texas Hold’em poker is essentially just like saying: “I’m the greatest Texas Hold’em player you’ll ever see, don’t forget to be on the ball while you’re sitting in a poker game against me!” That is almost certain to be the most awful vibe you are going to want to give off playing Texas Hold’em. What’s more, sharing too much about your Texas Hold’em playing manner can be unfavorable to your poker game. You definitely do not want these folks to get a clue about how you bet on certain no-limit Texas Hold’em hands.

What is more there are those Texas Hold’em Poker opponents who could exploit show-boating as a style of poker trick, or bluff. Bragging when you are dealt a specific no limit Texas Hold’em poker hand may throw your opponents for a loop and stump them about your no limit Texas Hold’em poker playing technique. There are a few people who might deem this tactic a bit sneaky, but it is important to not forget that there aren’t many regulations against it in poker. Texas Hold’em Poker is all about doing the best with what you’re dealt and exploiting it to the fullest.

Online Texas Hold’em Investigation Story will be presented on Television

Posted under poker players & poker regulations & poker room

poker scandal
Sunday night the CBS network will present their investigation special “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special program was made after a four-month research into the online poker business and particularly a scam involving the online Texas Hold’em poker page Absolute Poker.

This poker webpage was probed after a few of the Texas Hold’em poker players on the website alleged that someone was unduly winning a great amount of poker hands. Todd Witteles was a significant player in this research, according to Witteles; he was losing incredibly large amounts of money to the exact same Texas Hold’em player. Witteles declared that this player was raising against exceptionally good hands, most people would have assumed he was just giving out his money, but he was unbelievably earning tons of chips.

Witteles was correct about his suppositions, it was later shown that a player who knew about the site was able to view everyone´s poker hole cards. At first glance, Absolute Poker stated that there were no faults with the room or the Texas Hold’em poker competitor. After many more players showed up with allegations, the poker page explored deeper into the problem and discovered wrongdoing.

Around Jan. of this year, the gaming commission discovered what the Texas Hold’em poker players and the Texas Hold’em poker page had suspected all the time. It was eventually shown that, there was an employee who had attacked the Texas Hold’em poker webpage’s security system and was playing illegally for close to a month and a half. The study proved that the poker page had not gained from the unlawful behavior in any way, and was in no way, shape or form engaged in the activities.

These scams are further confirmation that there should be more guidelines regarding online poker sites. The US government needs to authorize and legalize the internet gambling industry to guard these honorable customers. These laws would also police the admission to these gambling webpages by children, which is becoming another issue nowadays.
