Is Shooting your Mouth Off in Texas Hold’Em a Good Idea?

Posted under poker players & poker tables & professional poker

poker tips
Certainly the most loathed individuals at the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table the majority of times will constantly be the bragger. You know the person I’m speaking of. He’s the player that finds a seat at the poker table and makes clear you’re conscious that he desires all of your no-limit Texas Hold’em chips; parting the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table with the very same mind-set that he arrived with. Even if the guy gets killed, he has the idea that he is the best Texas Hold’em player in the world.

As the better part of Texas Hold’em players would preferably avoid opponents of this kind, there are other people who would argue that bragging may have its rewards. So, the big doubt is: Is there truly something like an accomplished poker attention-seeker or false Texas Hold’em bragger? Bragging about how skilled you are in no limit Texas Hold’em poker is essentially just like saying: “I’m the greatest Texas Hold’em player you’ll ever see, don’t forget to be on the ball while you’re sitting in a poker game against me!” That is almost certain to be the most awful vibe you are going to want to give off playing Texas Hold’em. What’s more, sharing too much about your Texas Hold’em playing manner can be unfavorable to your poker game. You definitely do not want these folks to get a clue about how you bet on certain no-limit Texas Hold’em hands.

What is more there are those Texas Hold’em Poker opponents who could exploit show-boating as a style of poker trick, or bluff. Bragging when you are dealt a specific no limit Texas Hold’em poker hand may throw your opponents for a loop and stump them about your no limit Texas Hold’em poker playing technique. There are a few people who might deem this tactic a bit sneaky, but it is important to not forget that there aren’t many regulations against it in poker. Texas Hold’em Poker is all about doing the best with what you’re dealt and exploiting it to the fullest.

Even the poker champs get bluffed when they least expect it

Posted under poker & poker bluff & poker tournament & poker tricks & professional poker

According to the 2006 World Series of Poker champ, Jamie Gold, he would be pleased to be branded as the finest bluffer in the world. But if his last poker tournament is any sign, his wish may not be granted ever.

The site is the 2007 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic held at the Sin City Bellagio in 2007. Featuring $50 - $100 blinds and a $15,000 buy-in, Darrell Dicken is hanging on in the tournament for dear life. The seat 4 player has just raised his wager to $300, a pretty small raise with only one player biting the line. “I put him as being weak,” Jamie said, “I was thinking about raising, but instead I just called with a 10-3 of hearts to see what would happen.”

Jamie thought that Brad Booth would make some kind of move, which he did. He re-raised to $1600 from the big blind. Gold was thinking that Booth had a good hand, but he was in an excellent position to make a move considering the quantity of dead money in the pot. Dicken ended up folding, and the unknown in Seat 4 called Booth’s raise.

Now there was more than $4000 in the pot, so Jamie raised the wager by $4000. He was thinking, only if someone else had aces or kings there would be no possibility they would make that call. Jamie’s strategy was to make a considerable move on the flop, as long as no ace was dealt. The second part of his plan was to get Booth to fold, which he did. Booth folded with pocket queens.

On the flop there was an ace of ace-6-5, two clubs. The player in seat 4 checked and Jamie bet $2000. Jamie’s initial thought was to make him think that he had clubs. Seat 4 tossed out a $10,000 poker chip, but didn’t say anything thus turning his raise into a call. Jamie’s thought was that seat 4 most likely had an ace, but you have to shield it in case he hits his set on the following card.

A 2 of hearts showed up on the turn, and Jamie folded to what he was thinking was a top pair kicker. Seat 4 displayed a king-jack off suit. Seat 4 beat Gold by bluffing with a superb hand, he made a magnificent poker play and kept the bluff going to the end of the poker tournament.

Posted under poker & poker players & poker tournament & professional poker & texas holdem

The popular Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, is now betting on this popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its showroom in the Venetian Hotel and Casino, beginning in October.

The new game show will unite comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to take part in the famous Texas-Holdem’ alongside the some famous poker stars. Many prizes are available for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.

In “The Real Deal!” the audience will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 of the World’s most famous poker players have already signed up for the poker game show. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who visit Sin City casinos want to play poker games,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a big game with the players like Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the start of the show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two professional players. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique set of poker cards on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

Creators of the show say that you don’t have to be a professional poker player to join in the game. There are other ways to add to your point total, that doesn’t involve poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a winner in this game.

Creators of the show are also betting on the charisma of the pro poker stars to create some interesting moments. Poker players like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, definitely knows how to work the crowd and should provide some memorable moments in this upcoming show .

Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament Strategy-Sorting the Good from the Bad

Posted under poker & poker games & poker strategy & poker tournament & professional poker & texas holdem

All over the Internet, there are all manner of strategy guides and endless amounts of blog posts detailing the apparently endless amounts of advice and tips on the most cutting-edge techniques involved in playing Texas Hold’em poker and tournament or cash play. At first glance, it would seem that the player could simply sign up at any online poker room and casino such as Fulltiltpoker.com or throw a suitcase into their car and head out to Las Vegas and begin winning a fortune in the same fashion as professional Texas Hold’em tournament poker players who have been portrayed as larger than life in a multitude of high budget Hollywood movies. But the truth is, most of the information that can be found on the Internet pertaining to the strategy of playing Texas Hold’em poker tournaments professionally is faulty, consisting of all manner of bizarre and less than effective advice that will simply lead the player down the path of destruction.

First and foremost, the concept of signing up in online poker rooms and casinos such as Fulltiltpoker.com and beginning to win massive amounts of money right away is simply not based in the realm of reality. Separating fantasy from the real world before beginning this type of endeavor is critical to the online poker room player, as maintaining a strong bankroll requires knowing the odds and relying on years of experience to understand how to play, what to play and win to take advantage of position. This type of information does not come from years of practice, despite what Texas Hold’em professional tournament poker players would have you believe. In fact, most of the highly skilled poker players that you may know were trained by someone else, mentored in their attempts to become high limit professional Texas Hold’em poker tournament players.

Since the only way to attain the necessary experience is through experience, the Texas Hold’em poker tournament player should rely on improving their skills by locating strategy and techniques that are truly effective and handed down by experienced professional Texas Hold’em poker tournament players. At poker supplies websites such as Fulltiltpoker.com, the Texas Hold’em poker tournament player can find the strategies and techniques that can help them win in the form of books on the subject of how to win at Texas Hold’em poker tournaments and instructional poker DVDs, authored by professional poker tournament players such as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke.

With this focus on getting an additional leg up through correct and effective strategy, the Texas Hold’em poker tournament player can ensure that they are not flying blind and can reduce the amount of time required to become a consistent winner at Texas Hold’em.
